Anyway, I think I should start turning philosophical as well. I mean, look at Kevin, his blog entries are always so intellectual and he has such strong views about a lot of things. Such a wide range of general knowledge and most importantly his views are uniquely so. Sighh, you? You rant about life. Life should be this, life should be that. Jewellery, dance, clothes, music. Where are the more important issues you should be focusing on?? Sure, environment you say. But enough of it? I don't think so gal. What about politics? Social issues? Economic issues? I should start reading the papers everyday and strewn my body with them until I get wasted. Oh look, here I am ranting again. Damn.
Yet honestly, what is REALLY important? Is it world issues? Sure, I admit their importance, but undeniably, most people would put themselves, their families, whatever else they treasure before all. Why? Because humans are all selfish pigs who think about themselves and do not see how they can help effect changes if they try together. Then again, maybe society has made it that way; causing us to give up the whole idea altogether; effect changes? Pfft. No one else cares, why should I? Resulting in apathy. It's no wonder.
I guess the point I am trying to make is that; what is important to you? I mean, I feel I should read more papers and get to know more about the world I am living in. But for what? I can read about it, can I do ANYTHING to change it?? (Okay, now I feel this argument is going more and more towards apathy.) Never mind, let's move back in. Importance, do world issues affect you directly? No. Without a doubt indirectly, what is more direct is yourself, family, friends and the nearby surrounding environment you are in. It's just like what Sun Tzi says; direct English translation: first cultivate yourself, then manage your family, I cannot remember the third one, or maybe there is none and the last is to build your country. This order of importance makes the whole lot of sense. So, why then am I so bothered about not talking social, political and economic issues on my blog and having an insufficient knowledge of them? Why does it matter? I am simply at the lowest level of Sun Tzi's theory. But that is important too, because without setting up my foundation (cultivating myself), I will not be able to build on bigger things anyway. So yes, stop beating yourself up over it. I'll get there someday.
Regardless, I still find the most valuable knowledge in the world is knowing there are people who care and love you. These people are your family and friends and re-stresses on my point of what is truly important. Yes, I still believe in the education of love (ai de jiao yu).
